Connect an AI Assistant

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or any AI assistant to Project Management so it can help you find and summarize issues, units, packages, and reports — read-only, signed in as you.

What is this?

You can connect an AI assistant — like Claude or ChatGPT — to Project Management. Once connected, just chat with it: “What DLP issues are open this week?” or “Summarize the complaints by category” — and it reads the data and answers for you. It signs in as you and can only read what your own account is allowed to see. It cannot change anything.

Your connection details

Copy this into your AI tool when it asks. You’ll then sign in with your Project Management account — no passwords or secret keys are ever shared.

MCP Server URL

The address of the Project Management assistant. Paste this when your tool asks for a “custom connector” or “MCP server” URL.

Set it up in your AI tool

Pick the tool you use. The first one needs nothing installed.

Claude (claude.ai)Easiest
  1. 1

Open Claude on a computer (the claude.ai website or the Claude desktop app) and sign in.

  2. 2

Go to SettingsConnectors, then click Add custom connector (the + next to “Connectors”).

  3. 3

Paste the MCP Server URL into the box and click Add.

  4. 4

Click Connect, sign in with your Project Management account, and click Approve.

  5. 5

Done. In any chat, open the + menu → Connectors and turn on Project Management.

On a free Claude plan you can have one connector. On a Team/Enterprise workspace an owner may need to add it once for everyone. You can’t add a connector from the phone app — set it up on a computer, then it works on mobile too.

ChatGPT

In ChatGPT this uses a beta feature called Developer mode, on a computer browser. It’s available on Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise (not the free plan). On a company workspace, your IT admin may need to allow Developer mode first.

  1. 1

Open ChatGPT in a web browser on a computer and sign in.

  2. 2

Go to Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.

  3. 3

Back on Apps & Connectors, click Create.

  4. 4

Give it a name (e.g. Project Management), paste the MCP Server URL, and set Authentication to OAuth. Then click Create.

  5. 5

Sign in with your Project Management account and approve. In a chat, open the + / Apps menu to use it — the first time it does something, click Allow.

Claude CodeFor developers
  1. 1

In your terminal, add the connector:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user elgouna-pm https://mcp-projectmanagement.elgouna.com/mcp
  2. 2

Open Claude Code, run /mcp, choose elgouna-pm, and finish the login in your browser.

Any other AI tool

Project Management works with any AI tool that supports remote MCP servers (sometimes called connectors). Add a new MCP server / custom connector and paste the MCP Server URL. When it asks you to sign in, use your Project Management account— you won’t need a client ID or secret key.

Is this safe?
  • • It’s read-only — the assistant can only read what you can already see. It can’t file, edit, close, or delete anything.
  • • It signs in as you and sees only what your account allows — exactly the same as the website.
  • • Your password is never shared — you sign in on El Gouna’s own secure page.
  • • You can disconnect any time from your AI tool’s connector settings.
